Joining the Transportation Officials Division
Representation
ARTBA provides the opportunity to influence federal policy and regulation and ensure that the nation's level of investment in transportation remains strong.
Be Heard
You will have the ability to be heard by regulatory agencies. ARTBA is the industry's voice on regulatory matters, regularly submitting comments on a variety of matters, including SAFETEA-LU implementation, to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety & Health Administration, and others. ARTBA aggressively monitors these issues and works to make sure policymakers know the views of the transportation community.
Stay Informed
You will be kept informed on issues that matter. As an ARTBA member, you have access to networking opportunities and the best source of industry-related Washington news and economic information available to transportation officials anywhere. This also includes a regular TOD e-newsletter and an enhanced information section on the ARTBA website especially for transportation officials.
Industry Leader
With ARTBA, you have a recognized industry leader fighting for your interests. ARTBA members have testified multiple times before Congress on a variety of environmental issues. ARTBA has earned several court victories in the areas of Clean Air Act and wetlands regulation. The association’s legal advocacy program is committed to ensuring transportation industry views are heard at the highest levels of government.
Increase Transportation Funding
Become part of an organization with a proven ability to increase transportation funding. The passage of SAFETEA-LU included many positive changes to federal transportation policy-long advocated by ARTBA. Since 1990, federal investment in transportation construction programs-the sole market ARTBA focuses its lobbying attention on-has increased by more than 120 percent. Join the transportation construction industry’s strongest advocate for increased funding for transportation projects important to your area.
Create Positive Change
You will affect positive change in your home state, county or locality. Another part of SAFETEA-LU was the creation of a "High Risk Rural Road Safety Program," which was advocated by ARTBA and its TOD members. This program provides communities with federal funds to address pressing road safety concerns. Share your thoughts and ideas to make sure this program continues and grows.
