Transportation Officials
Since 1902, ARTBA has been the recognized industry leader in growing and protecting the federal transportation construction market. In fact, ARTBA was founded by a public official-Michigan's Horatio Earle.
The Transportation Officials Division was created to support the mission of ARTBA, to provide input to ARTBA and to be a strong advocate for transportation officials.
There are many reasons to join hundreds of others as a member of the association's Transportation Officials Division, including:

LTAP/TTAP
For over 25 years, 58 Centers that comprise the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Local & Tribal Technical Assistance Programs (LTAP/TTAP) have provided information and training to local governments and agencies responsible for over three million miles of roads and over 300,000 bridges in the United States.

ARTBA is the "consensus voice" of transportation design and construction industry in Washington, D.C.
On behalf of its more than 5,000 public and private sector members, ARTBA's primary goal is to aggressively grow and protect transportation infrastructure investment to meet the public and business demand for safe and efficient travel. In support of this mission, ARTBA also provides programs and services designed to give its members a global competitive edge.

ARTBA is the leading regulatory advocate, regularly representing the industry's views before the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Occupational Safety & Health Administration, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Army Corps of Engineers, Office of Management and Budget, and other federal agencies. ARTBA typically submits such comments 25 times per year.

From the halls of Congress to the halls of justice, ARTBA regularly takes action to defend transportation design and construction industry market interests when threatened by dubious regulation or litigation.

Since its founding in 1902, safety has been a core element of ARTBA's mission. The association's multifaceted approach is designed to improve safety for workers, pedestrians and motorists. As an industry leader, ARTBA works to build consensus and develop policy by bringing together national leaders to better understand the complex and intricate interaction of safety with all aspects of transportation planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair.
