Young Executive Development Program

Launched in 1995 and now a model for other national associations, the Young Executive Development Program (YEDP) helps develop the next generation of industry leaders who will shape transportation policy for the future.

The YEDP is an intensive, four-day introduction to the federal legislative and regulatory processes that affect the industry in Washington.  It includes visits to Capitol Hill for meetings with members of Congress about important transportation development issues as part of the ARTBA Federal Issues Program and Transportation Construction Coalition Fly-in.  YEDP fellows also have the opportunity to connect with their peers and earn nearly 20 professional development hours.

More than 400 young executives from nearly 200 firms, agencies and state contractor organizations, in 40 states, have completed the program.  Several past participants are currently serving terms on the ARTBA Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and many are involved in the Young Executive Leadership Council.

Volvo Construction Equipment is a major YEDP sponsor.
