Guidelines for Using
ARTBA's E-Mail Lists
The following
e-mail guidelines will create a positive environment for even the most
timid technology user, not to mention protect the rights of all listserv
subscribers when they remember to practice a few rules:
- You may not harass, abuse, threaten, or advocate violence against other members or individuals within the group.
- You may not post content that is obscene, otherwise objectionable, or in violation of federal or state law.
- You may not post content which infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties.
- Gain permission to reprint copyrighted material before posting it. If you post information that is not your original work or ideas, specify the original source.
- Stay on topic. The group appreciates it when you stay on topic. If you constantly stray from the topic you may be moderated or removed from the group altogether by its owner.
- You may not add members to the group without their permission.
- You may not use this group for commercial or advertising purposes.
- Some content may be more appropriate in some contexts than others. ARTBA reserves the right to remove content that it determines, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate and in violation of the listserv rules.
- You may not use the group solely for the purpose of storing and archiving files.
- When posting a message, let us know who you are. Include your name, affiliation and e-mail address (typically this is done in a signature file). In the subject line, be specific in describing the subject matter that you are posting.
- And, most important of all, participate!
Some portions of following rules have been adapted from the Yahoo! Groups Guidelines, 2005.
