Bridge Policy & Promotion Council

Created by the ARTBA Board of Directors in 2008, the Bridge Policy & Promotion Council (BPPC) is an advocacy group focused on significantly growing public and private investment in the bridge market and ensuring a strong private sector voice in federal bridge policy and regulatory matters. The BPPC also provides a forum and networking platform for owners, designers, builders, suppliers and researchers.

Federal highway projects, on average, create more than 2 acres of new wetlands for every one acre they impact.

According to the American Coal Ash Association, concrete is a major consumer of industrial byproducts that otherwise would end up in landfills, including 15 million tons annually of fly ash.

Tighter fuel economy standards are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 900 million metric tons between 2012 and 2016.

No public or private effort provides more financial resources for environmental and community enhancement than the federal highway program.

The Solar Highway project currently powers about 28 percent of the I-5/I-205 interchange.
