Transportation Construction Employment Report
The Transportation Construction Employment Report is a monthly update on employment in the industry. There were 301,800 workers employed by highway and bridge contractors in June 2010. Employment in highway and bridge construction fell by 4.6 percent compared to June 2009, a decline of 14,600 workers.

Construction Materials Cost
ARTBA tracks changes in material prices in the monthly Construction Material Cost Report. The cost of highway and street construction materials was up 4 percent in June 2010 compared to June 2009. Over the same time period, inflation, as measured by the consumer price index, was 1.1 percent.
