Business leaders will be sharing their views about ARTBA’s “Critical Commerce Corridors” program and the future of the nation’s highway program:

Governor John Engler

John Engler

Governor John Engler, president & CEO of the National Association of manufacturers, has made restoring infrastructure one of his group’s top priorities for the 110th Congress. He will outline the need to improve strategic intermodal links and upgrade transportation capacity to move goods.


Robert B. Flowers

Lieutenant General (Ret) Robert B. Flowers

Former Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Robert Flowers was selected July 12, 2004, to head the new subsidiary, HNTB Federal Services Corporation. As chief executive officer of the new company, Gen. Flowers developed the strategic plan to guide the firm in addressing the government's facility, infrastructure and security needs. On January 4, 2007 HNTB Federal Services expanded its leadership team to better serve the growing global infrastructure market by naming Robert B. Flowers as Vice Chairman of HNTB Federal Services and Chief Executive Officer of HNTB International Corporation. HNTB International serves federal agencies and partners with multinational companies to deliver infrastructure projects overseas.

 

Larry Lair

Larry Lair

Lair, a certified public accountant, has more than 20 years experience at 3M. He leads the company’s traffic and vehicle management systems through innovative solutions that satisfy public safety and mobility needs. Previously, he has held various supervisory and managerial roles with 3M, including general manager, manufacturing director, plant manager and operations manager throughout the U.S. and Mexico.

Gary Petty

Gary Petty, president and CEO of the National Private Truck Council, will share his thoughts about the transportation infrastructure and freight challenges facing the trucking fleet industry.

 

Jack Schenendorf

Jack Schenendorf

National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission Vice Chair Jack Schenendorf will provide a status report on the commission’s activities during 2007.

 

Dr. William R. Buechner

Dr. William R. Buechner

Harvard-trained economist Dr. William R. Buechner is ARTBA vice president of economics and research. He will provide a report on current and future transportation construction market conditions.

Jim Crowley

Jim Crowley

Jim Crowley is vice president of sales for Quixote Transportation Safety, Inc., the parent company of Energy Absorption Systems, Inc. and Safe Hit, which manufacture and market traditional highway safety products such as highway crash cushions and impact attenuators, anti-icing systems; flexible delineator posts and portable sign systems. Jim also servers as president of ARTBA’s Traffic Safety Industry Division.


Lee Corso

Lee Corso

Lee Corso, one of college football’s most knowledgeable, opinionated and entertaining analysts, is a key member of eSPN’s college football team. Corso will enter his 16th year this fall as a studio analyst with eSPN’s “College GameDay,” the network’s signature studio program, and the halftime and scoreboard shows. He previously served as a game analyst for the eSPN College Football Thursday Night telecasts. He joined the network in 1987 after 28 years as a coach at the college and professional levels, including 17 seasons as a head coach. Corso will discuss risk taking and leadership.


Larry Miller

Larry Miller

As one of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces, Larry Miller has appeared in over 50 films and numerous television shows. Miller began his career with a memorable cameo as the brown-nosing store manager in “PRETTY WOMAN,” and has since gone on to delight audiences in some of the most unforgettable roles.

He has in such films as “BEST IN SHOW,” “WAITING FOR GUFFMAN,” “10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU,” “THE PRINCESS DIARIES I&II” and “THE NUTTY PROFESSOR I&II,” to name just a few.

Miller was most recently seen in the Christopher Guest film “FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION,” which stared an ensemble cast that included Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. Some of his other credits include “KEEPING UP WITH THE STEINS,” starring opposite Jeremy Piven, “KISS KISS BANG BANG,” with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer and the critically-acclaimed documentary “THE ARISTOCRATS,” which featured 100 of the world’s most well-known comedians telling the dirtiest joke ever heard.

Miller’s numerous television credits include the hit shows “DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES,” “LAW & ORDER,” and “SEINFELD,” along with recurring roles on “ BOSTON LEGAL,” “8 SIMPLE RULES” and “MAD ABOUT YOU.” Miller has also made regular appearances on “REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER,” “THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO” and “THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN,” as well as starring in several of his own HBO comedy specials and on Broadway in Neil Simon’s play “THE DINNER PARTY.”

In addition to acting, Miller recently published his first book Spoiled Rotten America, a collection of seventeen comic essays about everyday life. He is also a contributing humorist to The Weekly Standard.
