RECOMMENDED ATTIRE FOR CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES

All the events for the program with the exception of the Chairman’s Banquet are business casual (open collared shirt, no tie, sports jacket optional.)  The Chairman’s Reception, Banquet and Incoming Chairman’s Hospitality Event on Thursday evening is business attire (suit for men and cocktail attire for women.)

All spouse and guest program events are casual dress.  Soft shoes, flats, or sneakers are recommended.

Project/Bridge/City Tours

  • Bridges Tour
    Chicago is known for having the most movable bridges of any City and this tour will take you inside the Historic Bridge House of the Michigan Ave. Bascule Bridge. Built in 1920, we’ll take a tour inside of the mechanical and operations room to see how the bridge opens and learn about the design and history of the bridge.
  • Grand-State Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Red Line Station Reconstruction Project.
    The $67 million project consists of rebuilding the mezzanine and platform at the station, the Red Line’s eight busiest with more than 8,000 passengers daily. The project will expand the mezzanine more than 2,000 square feet, and nearly double the entering/exiting capacity by adding fare turnstiles. Additionally, the renovation will be the first major update since the station’s construction in the late 1940s.

  • Project highlights include:
  • New granite floors and stairs
  • New glazed tile walls
  • New stainless steel light trays and energy-efficient lighting
  • Three new elevators and one new escalator
  • New customer-assistant kiosks
  • New CTA communications and speaker system
