One Week... One Location... From the “Best” in the Industry!

This is an intensive, industry-specific “Boot Camp” designed to provide you with the focused training and certifications you need—and to help you build a network of industry contacts to help you get your job done right! Key safety management, training and certification programs covered:

  • Roadway construction-focused OSHA 500 Instructor Course (which qualifies participants to teach OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Courses)
  • Flagger Instructor Certification
  • CPR training
  • Managing Risk Control for Profitability
  • Aids for working with a Spanish-speaking workforce

The program was developed under close supervision of representatives from leading transportation construction firms, providing both substantive theory and practical application of safety management principles for the road and bridge construction industry.

Who Should Attend

The five-day program is designed to raise the professional abilities of project safety managers, foremen and supervisors working in the road and bridge construction industry. It offers valuable information to seasoned safety professionals as well as new safety managers looking for education and training experience and materials.

Program Content

The course is built on an acknowledged adult learning model where participants are encouraged to learn through discussions, evening exercises, peer activities and focus groups. Leading industry experts will also provide important instructions on best safety practices. This presents a valuable learning opportunity for all attendees regardless of their past experience.

Participants will leave with an abundance of ideas and materials to improve their performance and share with employees and colleagues back home. They will also return energized about their chosen profession with an enhanced commitment to the job and the employer who gave them the opportunity to be a part of this program.

Take-home Training Aids

Upon successful completion of the Boot Camp, participants will be provided with training materials including:

  • Roadway Safety—an interactive training program for teaching new hires and conducting safety refresher training
  • OSHA 10-Hour Course for Roadway Construction Instructor kit
  • Safety checklists for the roadway construction industry
  • Copies of the OSHA 1926 standards for construction
  • Instructional and background materials from the OSHA 500 course

Earn Professional Development Hours (PDHs)

Attendees of the Academy can earn up to 40 PDHs (each program varies in actual length). Upon successful completion of the program, each attendee will receive a certificate with the number PDHs earned during the academy. ARTBA also maintains a copy of the record for verification.
