Washington, D.C. [January 10, 2007]Well-trained managers, foremen and supervisors can help prevent costly safety violations and save their companies from possible lawsuits, while protecting the most valued asset: their workforce. The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) has a unique program to help ensure industry professionals get this important safety training in one place and at one time.

The ARTBA-TDF Safety Supervisors Advancement Academy, scheduled February 26-March 2, 2007, in the Nation’s Capital, is week-long course which includes:

  • OSHA Instructor Renewal and Disaster Site Response
  • Crisis Communications
  • Temporary Traffic Control Technician
  • Succeeding with Hispanic Workers
  • Managing Safety for Profitability

The Academy also offers opportunities to network with officials at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Federal Highway Administration and other federal agencies.

Attendance is limited.  For more information, contact ARTBA Vice President of Safety and Education or 202-289-4434, or register online at www.artbatdf.org.

The ARTBA-TDF was established in 1985 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity to “promote research, education and public awareness.”  It supports an array of initiatives, including educational scholarships, awards, executive education seminars, roadway work zone safety and training programs, special economic reports and a national exhibition on transportation.
