Washington, D.C. [February 13, 2007]—The National Association of County Engineers (NACE) has endorsed Intertraffic North America, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) announced today. NACE will work with ARTBA to bring county engineers from around the country to the trade show.

Intertraffic North America—the continent’s most comprehensive conference and exposition to bring together suppliers and customers for the transportation infrastructure, traffic management, traffic safety and parking industries—will be held October 10-12, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Convention Center. The event is being organized by ARTBA and Amsterdam RAI.

RAI’s “Intertraffic Amsterdam” is the world’s largest international trade fair for infrastructure, traffic management, safety and parking, drawing 700 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees biennially from both private and public industry sectors. RAI also has trade shows in Eurasia and China.

“NACE is pleased to endorse, promote and participate in the Intertraffic North America Show,” said NACE Executive Director Tony Giancola.  “Both ARTBA and NACE actively support roadway safety and the show will afford all participants the opportunity to learn more about how we can improve safety on our local roads."

NACE was founded in July 1956, with membership open to county engineers or engineers serving in equivalent capacities in counties of the United States. Since that time, the membership has been expanded to allow for non-engineers who are in responsible charge of a county operation to become a voting member. It has also been expanded to welcome members from any country who have similar goals.

Established in 1902, ARTBA represents the public and private sectors of the U.S. transportation construction industry before Congress, the White House, federal regulatory agencies, news media and general public.
