Nick Goldstein Promoted to ARTBA Assistant General Counsel and Director of Regulatory Affairs
Washington, D.C. [July 25, 2007]—The American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) has promoted Nick Goldstein to assistant general counsel and director of regulatory affairs. Goldstein first joined ARTBA as a staff attorney in 2004. Previously, he was an associate with the Washington, D.C., law firm of Van Ness Feldman, P.C. His concentration was on environmental law issues of interest to clients based in northern Alaska and regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He has been involved with federal litigation and regulatory actions related to the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act. He has also worked on federal wetlands and “takings” issues. Goldstein earned his B.A. in environmental studies at Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. He was awarded a J.D. and M.S. in Environmental Law degrees in 2000 from the Vermont Law School, where he was a member of the Vermont Law Review and the school’s National Moot Court team. In 2002, Goldstein was awarded an L.LM. in Litigation and Dispute Resolution by The George Washington University School of Law in Washington D.C. Goldstein is a member of the Massachusetts and District of Columbia Bars and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Prior to entering law school, Goldstein contributed a year to public service through the Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) program, serving as a research assistant at the Bexar County Legal Aid Office in San Antonio, Texas. While in college, he completed internships with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe’s Office of Economic Planning and Development in Eagle Butte, S.D. ARTBA, established in 1902, is the consensus voice of the transportation construction industry before the Congress, White House, federal agencies and courts, news media and the general public. ###
