Call for Nominations: ARTBA Foundation Seeks
Washington, D.C. [Feb. 04, 2008]—The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is calling for nominations for its 2008 “PRIDE Awards,” which honor “excellence in community relations and public education that enhance the image of the U.S. transportation construction industry.” The awards competition categories include: Community Relations: Programs and activities that demonstrate positive civic involvement with the community in which a firm/agency is located. Public-Media Relations/Education: Programs and activities that educate the public and opinion leaders about the significant contributions the transportation construction industry (or a specific sector of it) makes to the economy and/or quality of life. The 2008 “PRIDE Awards” program is open to all industry firms, agencies and associations. ARTBA membership is not required. A completed nomination and entry form must be received at The ARTBA Headquarters Building by March 13, 2008 . Entry forms may be obtained by calling Rhonda Britton at 202-289-4434 or via www.artbatdf.org. Awards will be presented during the 2008 ARTBA Federal Issues Program Conference, held in Washington, D.C., May 19-21. The ARTBA-TDF was established in 1985 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity to “promote research, education and public awareness.” It supports an array of initiatives, including educational scholarships, awards, executive education seminars, roadway work zone safety and training programs, special economic reports and a national exhibition on transportation. ###
