ARTBA STAFF BLAZES TRAIL FOR TRANSPORTATION CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY, TAKES SECOND PLACE AT PATRIOT CUP CORPORATE CHALLENGE 8-K Run
Washington, D.C. [May 12, 2008]—Runners representing the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) took second place co-ed division honors during the May 4 Patriots' Cup Corporate Challenge Eight Kilometer (4.97 miles) Race in Fairfax, Va. The top three teams were, in ranked order: Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., (33:36 minutes); ARTBA (40:49 minutes); and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (40:54 minutes). Organizers raised $75,000 to support ARC of Northern Virginia, a nonprofit organization that assists individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities and their families. More than 550 runners and walkers participated in the event. ARTBA staff members included, in ranked order of finish: Omar Lopez, Priscilla Loperfido, Lucia Olivera, Mike Sakata, Hank Webster, Liz Cavallaro, Laura Spitz and Alison Black. Lucia Olivera placed second in her age group. ### Established in 1902, ARTBA represents the U.S. transportation design and construction industry in the Nation's Capital.
