Ben Franklin … W. C. Fields … Rocky Balboa …
These are just a few of the famous personalities associated with Philadelphia, site of this year’s ARTBA National Convention, which is scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the Hilton Penn’s Landing.
The hotel on the Delaware River waterfront is flanked by the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing and Spruce Street Harbor Park. Independence Hall and Liberty Bell Center are just a few blocks away, and you won’t have any trouble finding a tasty Philly cheesesteak.
As always, our program will be filled with meaningful sessions, and substantive discussions during division, committee and council meetings.
The ARTBA government affairs and economics team will provide the latest information about fixing the Highway Trust Fund and the status of the highway/transit program reauthorization. They will also deliver a transportation construction market conditions report.
CNN host and Sirius XM radio personality Michael Smerconish will be the featured speaker at a special Oct. 1 lunch commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the ARTBA Foundation and the 15th Anniversary of the Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program. At that event, we’ll also announce the inductions for the 2014 and 2015 ARTBA “Transportation Development Hall of Fame” classes. Finally, we will host an Oct. 1 dinner to install 2015-16 Chairman David Zachry.
If you have any questions about the meeting, please do not hesitate to contact ARTBA Vice President of Meetings Ed Tarrant at 202-289-4434, ext. 204, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
So, please register today to join us in the city where our Founding Fathers enshrined road building as part of the U.S. Constitution! What better place to meet. There’s important work to do. But we promise to have some fun along the way.
