ARTBA’s Research and Education Division (RED) Jan. 11 presented Dr. Teresa Adams with its 2015 S.S. Steinberg Award, which honors her contributions to education, academia, the construction industry and professional organizations.

Dr. Adams is a professor of transportation engineering and city planning in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and leads its University Transportation Center. Over her 24-year career, she has taken on many challenging leadership roles in the areas of research, service, and workforce development, including being a founding member of the Mid-America Freight Coalition (MAFC), a 10-state partnership.

In 2011, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood appointed her to serve on a federal advisory committee on intelligent transportation systems research and implementation.
