ARTBA’s four annual regional meetings will explore how innovative technology and demographic shifts are driving changes in the transportation design & construction industry. Each meeting will also offer localized transportation construction market intelligence and government affairs updates.

The 7th Annual Dr. J. Don Brock “TransOvation® Workshop” is combined with this year’s Northeastern regional, Nov. 7-8, in Boston, and will focus on urban mobility and smart cities.

The keynote speaker is Carlo Ratti, an architect and engineer by training. He directs the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT’s) “Senseable City Laboratory” and is a leading voice on new technologies’ impact on urban life.

The other three regional meetings are:

  • Western, Oct. 23-24, in Denver, which is being held in conjunction with Colorado DOT’s Transportation Summit. The featured workshop will delve into Innovative Technology, including robots, drones, artificial intelligence and automated vehicles.
  • Southern, Oct. 25-26 in Nashville, Tenn., The featured workshop, Millennials and the Future Workforce, will look at how the most innovative construction companies are recruiting, retaining, and maximizing the surge of next generation leaders and other workers at their firms.
  • Central, Nov. 14-16 in Indianapolis. The featured workshop is Autonomous Vehicles & Impact on Infrastructure Development. Attendees are also encouraged to attend the co-located Indiana Constructors Membership Meeting on Nov. 16.

Top private industry and public agency executives, and ARTBA senior staff, will be on hand at all four meetings to offer state, regional and national updates and insights. Register now for the meeting in your region via the hyperlinks provided above.
