ARTBA offers a variety of professional training, ranging from basic instruction for construction workers to advanced professional academies for owners, managers and supervisors.
The National Traffic Management and Work Zone Safety Conference
Since 1985, ARTBA has organized and conducted national conferences to promote roadway work zone safety. Since 2000, the conferences and related trade shows have been offered at least every two years.
This conference connects transportation leaders with people at all levels of government and private industry to discuss challenges and cutting edge solutions to help improve the safe and efficient movement of traffic under many different roadway conditions.
OSHA 10-Hour Training
Exclusively for the roadway construction industry, this is a revolutionary program for owners, safety managers, supervisors, and workers is focused directly on the hazards and situations that roadway construction workers face every day. From work zones to night work, this training sets the standard for the entire industry!
OSHA 502 Accreditation Academy
(Prerequisite: OSHA 500 )
This roadway construction-focused course is the update required every four years for all OSHA "Authorized Outreach Trainers for the Construction Industry." It provides timely information on OSHA Construction Industry standards, policies and regulations. To add value for participants, we include the acclaimed Center to Protect Workers’ Rights "Disaster Response" course.
Road & Bridge Construction Safety Accreditation Program
Under one umbrella, ARTBA provides the only Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Accreditation Program custom-designed for road and bridge construction safety directors and managers. ARTBA hosts a series of academies that provide beginning, intermediate and advanced training for company officials, safety managers, supervisors and foremen. Through our unique bundling of courses and interactive instruction, participants get a big “bang-for-the-buck” during a few days of intensive training. Using our partnership with the National Resource Center for OSHA Training, we are able to provide industry-specific accredited OSHA courses in conjunction with other critical topics.
Roadway Construction Safety Academy I
This five-day program creates a foundation of safety knowledge for your company leaders, safety managers, foremen and supervisors. With the OSHA 510 course as its core (a pre-requisite for the OSHA 500 class), participants will learn the OSHA standards covering the construction industry. Participants receive certified First-Aid and CPR training and instruction on how safety impacts profitability.
Roadway Construction Safety Academy II
(OSHA 510 Prerequisite)
This five-day academy is aimed at giving your construction firm highly qualified safety training professionals. Attendees become accredited as instructors for the roadway construction-focused OSHA 500 Instructor Course, which qualifies them to teach your workforce the OSHA 10- and 30-hour outreach classes). The program also includes flagger instructor certification and a package of high-quality training materials for use when participants return to the job.
Roadway Construction Safety Academy III
A high-level course for those firms that are serious about changing their safety culture, thereby bringing them to the forefront of U.S. businesses that understand the critical relationship between quality safety and high productivity. It focuses on creating a company safety culture, including safety audits, crisis management, night-time construction, effective crew pre-shift meetings and temporary traffic control technician training. Participants visit the headquarters of OSHA and the Federal Highway Administration to meet key government officials and receive briefings on regulatory activities.
