ARTBA Seeks Nominations for Industry Leader Development Program

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Foundation is accepting nominations for its 2023 Industry Leader Development Program (ILDP), a comprehensive introduction to federal and state advocacy on transportation policy, regulatory, and legal issues.

The program, exclusively sponsored by HNTB, is scheduled May 15-17 in the Nation’s Capital and held in conjunction with ARTBA’s annual Federal Issues Program (FIP) and the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) Fly-In.

The ILDP will feature sessions on implementation of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), industry economics, and how U.S. transportation work is funded and financed. The result is that participants learn how to become politically engaged to help shape U.S. transportation policy. Also on the agenda is a popular session with top industry C-suite executives offering career advice.

Almost 800 graduates from over 200 industry firms, state contractor chapters, and public agencies have completed the ILDP and its associated Industry Leader Development Council (ILDC) over the past 27 years.

Eligibility Requirements

• Nominees should be emerging professionals with at least three years of experience in the transportation design and construction industry, have made a significant contribution to the work of his or her firm, and shown evidence of strong leadership potential for the industry.
• Candidates must be nominated by a sponsor and submit a completed application form to be considered.

Nomination Process

• A letter of nomination and recommendation written by a principal of the firm, a senior executive within the governmental agency, or a senior-level faculty member at the university which employs the applicant must accompany each application.
