Request Safety Training
ARTBA’s Foundation offers award-winning training programs that approach roadway construction safety from “both sides of the barricades,” meaning we aim to ensure motorists, workers and pedestrians can safely navigate work zones when construction is underway. To learn more about our paid and free courses, contact ARTBA’s Brad Sant or call 202-289-4434.
These are the courses we are currently providing:
- Safe Backing and Spotting: This 4-hour certificate program is focused on training workers to avoid dangerous traffic areas on roadway construction sites, to recognize hazards surrounding equipment, and to provide clear communication between drivers/operators and spotters through the use of standardized signals and communication.
- Preventing Runovers and Backovers: This 3-hour course is sponsored by OSHA, and helps to reduce fatalities and accidents in the roadway construction industry by separating trucks and heavy machines from workers on foot in the work zone and creating an internal traffic control plan. Our surveys show that this course substantially improves organization and safety behavior in the work zone. No less than 20 and no more than 40 students are allowed per class.
- OSHA 10-Hour for Construction Trades: This course is accredited by the Department of Labor, and provides basic training to protect workers against common workplace hazards. The course lasts 10 effective hours (12.5 hours total), and is usually divided into two days. Department of Labor (DOL) accreditation cards will be provided to participants. No less than 20 and no more than 40 students are allowed per class **
- Roadway Safety Plus-RS +: This 2-hour course can be tailored according to the need of the students. For workers, we can combine any of the 33 different safety modules in the RS+ program according to your preference to provide training in any aspect of the roadway construction safety. But for managers, foreman, supervisors and personnel in charge of the workers’ safety the course, manual and software can be provided to enable participants to use the RS+ Software as a tool to teach workers. The RS+ is possibly the most advanced interactive software for roadway construction safety. No less than 20 students are allowed per class.
If you are interested in hosting any of these courses, you need only provide at minimum 20 participants, a place where we can teach them using our multimedia materials, and to coordinate your schedule with us.
(*) Offer valid only in the USA for US entities.
(**) OSHA 10 Hours is not available in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.
