After an extensive search, the Arizona Transportation Builders Association (ATB) announced Lisa Hagins as its new executive director. Hagins will lead the Tucson-based ARTBA state chapter affiliate, which represents infrastructure contractors, their suppliers and partners in southern Arizona.

Born in England, Hagins and her husband settled in Arizona in 2009. She spent many years working her way up in the banking industry, most recently serving as regional president for OneAZ Credit Union, a financial powerhouse throughout the state.

“After many years in banking and credit unions, I followed my heart and my passion for community and am honored to share my new role,” Hagins posted on her LinkedIn account. “ATB’s mission to #Moveoureconomy and lead Arizona’s commitment to growing infrastructure, education and sustainability speaks to my heart.”

Hagins may be new to transportation, but she is no stranger to leadership and community involvement. She is well known in Arizona’s business and philanthropic circles as a dynamic operational influencer and high-performance team builder. She was named one of the “Women Leading the Region” by BizTucson.

“What’s really important to me is leading with your heart and having a passion for your team. And I think that’s how I got to where I am,” she told the magazine in 2022.

Hagins’ tenure began in early August with a membership meeting featuring speakers from ARTBA and the Arizona Department of Transportation.

“Lisa has a collaborative leadership style,” said ATB President Ryan Mackey of Tuscon-based Sunland Asphalt & Contruction. “She brings people together and she brings people along with her strategic vision.”

“Under her guidance, ATB and ARTBA will further strengthen their alliance and continued advocacy for robust transportation infrastructure investment,” Mackey added.
