What’s happening: The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) launched the eighth biennial round of its Every Day Counts (EDC) initiative earlier this year. EDC helps project owners accelerate project delivery through streamlining and technology implementation. ARTBA has served as an industry partner since the program launched in 2009.

The details: The agency is hosting four one-day regional peer exchanges (formerly called “industry summits”) to familiarize transportation construction industry members with the cost- and time-saving innovations featured in EDC-8. Topics range from nighttime work zone safety to subsurface utility engineering.

  • Thursday, Oct. 15 – St. Louis, Mo.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 21 – Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Thursday, Oct. 29 – Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 2 – Houston, Texas

What’s next: ARTBA members interested in attending should contact Seema Javeri, FHWA’s accelerating innovation team lead, for details and registration information.
