The ARTBA Foundation Safety Center has added new training and other features to help the transportation construction industry prepare for the expected increase in project activity resulting from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Our wide range of programs and materials help save lives and prevent injuries, allowing your employees to return home safely and keeping your company’s projects on track. Winter is always a good season for workers to be reminded of important safety lessons and learn new skills.

Highlights of ARTBA’s improved safety training include:

  • New courses in Fall Training Programs, Applying the Americans with Disabilities Act to Work Zones, and Work Zone Clear Zones, Buffer Spaces, & Positive Protection Deflection.
  • Redesigned Safety Certificate for Transportation Project Professionals program.
  • COVID-19 & Other Infectious Diseases, and Electrical and Other Hazards in Roadway Construction courses made possible through the OSHA Susan Harwood Training Grant Program.
  • Guidance documents for the Roadway Construction ‘Caught-in’ Series, including trenching and excavation, and crushed-by and in-between hazards.

ARTBA’s safety team is ready to help you incorporate these new training products in ways that work best for your organization and employees. Some programs are offered free. Safety Training & Business Development Manager Robinson Vasquez customizes plans that include resources from ARTBA and the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse.

Training slots are filling fast. Visit the Safety Center. Contact Vasquez at 540.940.7064, or rvasquez@artba.org to discuss your needs or coordinate a class.
