What’s happening: ARTBA is co-hosting the fourth annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents, a webinar on conducting safety stand-downs and new techniques for preventing struck-by incidents.

The free event begins at 2 p.m. Eastern and is organized through the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the NORA Construction Sector Council. Please register now and ask questions in advance to our expert panel:

  • Steve Spaulding, VP & director of national environment, health and safety, Turner Construction Company
  • Reese Fortin, district health, safety and environment manager, Sundt Construction
  • Richard Wittlinger, safety director, JD Eckman
  • Jay W. Hocutt, program manager, UCOR

Why it matters: Struck-by incidents are the leading cause of death and injury on transportation construction projects. The webinar coincides with National Work Zone Awareness Week April 17-21, during which workers nationwide will pause to recognize struck-by incidents and educate crews on mitigating risk.
