Prepare for Davis-Bacon Changes

What happened: The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)’s updates to Davis-Bacon regulations are set to take effect Oct. 23. FHWA’s revisions to Form 1273 will also be in use at that time.

Why it matters: On Aug. 8, DOL finalized updates to the Davis-Bacon regulations, modifying prevailing wage policies for direct federal and federal-aid construction projects. Accordingly, FHWA issued a new Form 1273 and posted a summary of modifications.

What’s next: To assist ARTBA members and chapters now working to implement the Davis-Bacon revisions with their state agencies, ARTBA has arranged virtual office hours with DOL officials on Friday, Nov. 3, to answer questions regarding the regulations.
