ARTBA and industry partners submitted comments to the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regarding its Interim Final Rule that removes certain National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) implementing regulations. The coalition supports CEQ’s efforts to streamline environmental reviews, emphasizing the need for predictability, efficiency, and transparency in the federal permitting process. ARTBA advocated for NEPA procedures that align with the statute’s procedural intent, and encouraged agencies to continue reviews without delay using existing guidance. The coalition recommended CEQ provide templates to promote uniform analysis across agencies and highlighted the importance of interagency coordination and tools like dashboards to enhance transparency and public participation.
