ARTBA on July 22 filed comments on the Drug Enforcement Administration’s proposal to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III controlled substance.

ARTBA requested that DEA work with counterparts at the Departments of Labor and Transportation to ensure that marijuana remains on the list of drugs subject to mandatory testing for safety-sensitive employees, and that DEA ensure that transportation construction employers are able to maintain zero-tolerance policies for use of marijuana by employees working on active jobsites.
