ARTBA on January 14 filed comments on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) proposed rule to address workplace heat hazards in indoor and outdoor settings.

ARTBA urged OSHA to adopt a flexible, performance-based approach that accounts for the diverse environments and conditions found on transportation construction sites. The association emphasized the importance of avoiding one-size-fits-all mandates and highlighted the industry’s existing efforts to mitigate heat-related risks through training, hydration programs, and work-rest cycles tailored to local needs.
